NY Christmas Moment
A couple of nights ago, I was returning from the gym, after a good workout, bundled up in my thick coat, snow falling gently, the sounds of the city muffled by the snow.
As I rounded a corner, in the quaint, tree-lined lanes of my West Village neighborhood, I heard the unmistakable sounds of Christmas carolers. I followed my ears for a half a block, and there, gathered under a streetlamp, was a large group of people singing in full harmony. They had obviously practiced a LOT! The only people that were listening to them were a few residents who had opened their windows, and me. I was standing on the curb outside an old brick carriage house across the street from the group.
After a few beautiful carols, I turned to leave. I was full of joy and goodwill toward man after witnessing this almost-private Dickensian Christmas card moment.
A block later, filled with bliss and thinking to myself how much I love this city, I stepped into the street to avoid a big pile of snow. At that very moment, a cab swerved into my path and came within inched of turning me into the Spirit of Christmas Past. I flipped him the bird and called him all kinds of uncharitable names.
Happy holidays to you and yours wherever you might be!

It’s almost Christmas, and I REALLY need to reach out to all of my blog buddies today. I recently blogged about a new, fun, irrereverent Christmas song that I’ve recorded that was picked up by American Airlines to be played on their In-flight entertainment channel. This includes ALL domestic and international flights for the month of December!
