A Well Spent Stubbly Weekend!
Why is it that most guys I know feel it is their duty to the "Gods Of Leisure" to forgo shaving on their days off? Like, how hard is it to run a razor over your face on the days that you actually SPEND with your significant other so that the sheer act of kissing doesn't result in a rug burn on your lover's face?
I just don't get this. I mean, you don't seem to have any problem at 6 AM after 4 hours sleep running a straight edge over your chin, but try going for it after 10 hours of total REM bliss, and OH NOOOO, IT'S YOUR DAY OFF!!! IT'S STUBBLE TIME! Remember boys: LOVE DOESN'T HAVE TO HURT!
I'm personally a girl who shaves daily. No, I'm not real hairy! I just like to be smoooooth! Now, this reminds me of the time that I played in a band with a lovely woman who didn't believe in shaving. Big frigging deal! That's her prerogative as far as I'm concerned. I didn't love her any less for her shaving beliefs! Once, our band was playing a show at a pretty conservative college at a big outdoor show in the dead of summer. She noticed that several sorority-types were pointing their fingers at her and giggling to each other. She told me later that she started to freak out that maybe her pants were ripped or her zipper was down...or worse yet, maybe she'd sat in something unmentionable! It took her a few minutes to realize that they were laughing at her because her legs were hairy and she was wearing shorts. I mean, come on, these were sorority sisters that were wearing 6 inch heels to an outdoor summer concert complete with 17 pounds of makeup and boofie hairdos. Tell me, who's the freak?

My stubbly lover and I spent the weekend nerding! WE ARE NOW WIRELESS!!! Yes, this childless geek family household now has 4 computers, a printer, and a couple of ITUNES attached to the network. I was so excited that I just kept hitting "print" just to see it work without cables! (OK, I'm over that part now!)
Instead of hitting the town this weekend, we stayed in and rented a couple of truly GREAT BIG movies. Friday night we saw the BIG LEBOWSKI, which neither of us had ever seen. LOVE THOSE COEN BROTHERS! It was as much fun as I had hoped it would be. Saturday night we got some nice Italian food delivered in, and feasted while watching BIG NIGHT. This is one of my personal all time favorite movies. Probably in my top 5. There are so many wonderful scenes in this flick. One of my faves has Ian Holm preaching to Stanley Tucci that he must learn to BITE YOUR TEETH INTO THE ASS OF LIFE...I think I just might have to try doing that this week!
