Last Girl On Earth

The wacky musings of a girly New York musician who is attempting to prove that you don't have to be a 19 year old anorexic model babe to be successful.

IS IT ALMOST OVER?

I hope all of you had a great holiday...

OK, let me first say that I am TOTALLY grateful for EVERYTHING! Life is pretty fuckin’ great. BUT…(and here’s the disclaimer) I really can’t wait until the end of this holiday season! I’ve had a raging case of bronchitis for almost a week, along with a doozy dose of laryngitis. I’m beginning to think that I’m turning into Brenda Vaccaro with my low, sexy, (not to mention hoarse) voice. This is not a good thing when you sing for a living! Thank God I don’t have any shows for a couple of weeks. I’ve canceled some studio time where I was going to be doing some lead vocals on my new CD, though. Hey, shit happens.

GOOD NEWS IS… Santa-hubby brought me a brand-spanking new PowerBook for the holidays. Don’t bother giving me diamonds and rubies. Photoshop will do nicely! Now I need to decide if I’m going to upgrade my Logic Platinum (music software) program, or switch to ProTools. Either way, maybe I’ll start creating musical masterpieces while sipping overpriced lattes at Starbucks. Like all the rest of the urban wankers I see nerding on their PowerBooks at every other Starbucks on every other street corner in New York…(or maybe I’ll just stay here in my cozy apartment and make some cheap tea). Either way, this laptop ROCKS!!!!

And on top of that, he gave me what I’ve always wanted… A TIARA! Yes, that’s right, I always dreamed of wearing one, (prom queen, anyone?), but was never lucky enough to actually own one. Yes. I’m a lucky girl. This guy must really love me.

I’d LOVE to know what you all got, either from someone special, or what you might have given to your special self!

SO today, I got to drag my lovely stepdaughters to my doctor. Wow, aren’t they lucky to get to spend a holiday in NYC! Oh well, the doctor gave me some powerful cough medicine with codeine. So on that note, I’m outta here. ***********************************************

OH, BY THE WAY…Thanks to “whiskey drinkin” Brian at bigrockcandymountain for the mention on his blog. Go there and check out what he’s up to. He's got a music blog with all kinds of great music links to music you should know about!

ALSO…if you’d you think I might like your Blog and are interested in linking, let me know. I’m open-minded most of the time!

Later...
